Training Swords using mastery?

Someone told me on general chat that you can raise your sword skill using mastery skills?

Is this true? If so which skill do you use?

I'm currently 105 so I have hit the 90 minimum req to use sword masteries.

There are two active skills and only one of them you can use without hitting something.

I tried both. neither one would raise my skill. I'm hllding a sword and I have the room, skill point wise.

You can gain by spamming focused eye. But to optimize those gains, I'd suggest stoning anything that isn't swords and tactics, set med and focus to rise and get a leather suit with as much int/mi/mr as possible and spam it to your hearts content.
Or get a 100% energy demon slayer double axe/scimitar with hll, hml and hsl and go kill balrons in Dungeon Blackthorn at your skill level.

I went from 105 to 112.5 using mastery training. then it came to a screeching halt. My Swordsmanship mastery is rank 2. Is there any reason why my skill level would stop at 112.5? I tried for a few hours after 112.5 to level up. It's not budging.
