Grindylow walked around and around the big Rock the Island Bum had placed
over the hole. She knelt and squeezed her hand in to a crack between the edge
of the hole and the rock. Wiggling her fingers, she hoped Fluffy would get a
scent of her and come wiggling over.
Listening carefully she heard noises far below. It was working! She wiggled her
fingers faster and listened as the wiggling noise stopped just underneath the
rock.
"OWEEEEEEE!!!" she yelled as she jerked her hand up and out of the crack.
Tiny teeth marks stood out on three of her fingers. Little trails of blood were
coursing down from the marks.
"Oh Fluffy..what are you down there with!!?" she said.
Getting up, she stood and looked at the rock, shaking her head in sadness.
"We've just got to get you out of there!!" she said, as she listened to the
agitated chirping noises coming from under the rock.
Turning to walk away, Grindylow gave the rock one more swift kick.
"OWEEEEE!" she yelled. Limping away Grindylow headed off to Britain
to see what had been donated to make a explosive device to blow the
rock to smithereens. Soon her little Fluffy would be free and snuggled up
as snug as a bug in a rug.
