Drip...drip...drip...
*clink!*
Drip...drip...drip...
*clink!*
Deep within a cave near the town of Minoc, Finuval was at his usual chore of mining precious metals from the ground.
Nearby his Fire Beetle stood impatiently waiting for the next load of ore to smelt down into the ingots that were the lifeblood of Finuval's trade, Blacksmithing.
*clink!*
Another pile of ore to refine. The Fire Beetle went about its work of quickly dissolving the ore. As Finuval turned to dig another pile he heard or rather felt a stirring in the ground.
Raising his torch and peering down a side shaft his breath stopped.
The ground was heaving ever so slightly upwards. At first he thought another Solen intrusion and readied his blade.
This is not the first time he's had to fight off those Ant People.
Then he heard it, a low grumble. This was no Solen tunnel opening up.
His Fire Beetle decided it had enough and bolted. Turning to give chase he shouted the follow ocmmand but nothing was bringing that bug back.
Feeling it was time to get out of there himself he turn and started running for the cave entrance. He looked behind him just long enough to see a large blue hand erupt from the soil followed by a bellowing roar.
Whatever it was he was not sticking around to find out.
What ever it was it was big and it was coming.
As the light of day hit his face, Finuval summoned his ethereal mount and galloped away.
Behind him, deep inside the cave another chilling roar echoed.
He had to get to town and warn someone...
