This week I was attempting to carry trade orders for various cities across the realm, when something I witnessed in Moonglow that made my jaw drop. The trade minister there, Bennet, refused my offer to transfer the town's goods!

And I was carrying my traders permit. Many of us have been transporters for a lot of the towns, and I have a pretty good reputation, or so I thought? Never have I fenced any trades. My shipments get where they need to go, usually ahead of schedule. I asked him to see if he had any work for me that I could deliver for Moonglow. His reply was a short "NO..."
Really? I see all kinds of chests and crates lying around, so I asked again. Did he have any work for me?

Again he replied no, and told me to be on my way. So, I thought to myself....hmmm , why would he do that? Is he an incompetent and doesn't know how to do his job? Why would he refuse to acknowledge my traders permit? What is going on here, this is so strange.

Then something caught my eye as I peaked over his shoulder......
WHITE CRATES!!

I have heard rumor of these white crates being found around the Minoc docks, but I didn't think nothing of it. Our lands are full of half truths and lies, what sense would it make for me to believe the latest one...

The dock worker behind Bennet finished handling the loads of barrels and tagged the shipment with these words on them: Destination - Minoc

I spoke up. Having lived in Minoc for many years, I know the route there well, as it is my home town.
But it became clear than I was not leaving the dock on this night with that load. Soon a guardsman was called over by Bennet and the guard escorted me away from the area.

What does all this mean? I thought to myself...
Could the rumors be true?

The next day,

After sleeping on it and thinking about what happened last eve with Bennet at the docks, I decided to walk around Moonglow and look around. There has been a strangeness with Moonglow for a long time. Just recently a sitting governor, Lady Ivy was rescued here from a fortress with wild dragons in it. And nothing else was mentioned about it. Lauren, the governor of Moonglow did not have much to report about it, or anything else for that matter, at the recent meeting with King Blackthorn.
So as all this is going through my head, I happen across some cotton fields, and what an extraordinary sight I see!

Cotton is blooming all over the place, and it is only July. Having spent my early adult life on a cotton farm, I know what cotton is a late year crop, usually September or October.
What the heck is going on here?
Something in the middle of the field catches my eye, it is a white barrel, much like the one I saw last night at the dock that was marked for Minoc!

It is spewing up some white mist from the spout and making the cotton bloom like cazy! (see exhibit A)
Corrupt Cotton!

Who knew of such strange magic that makes a plant produce months ahead of its maturity?

I ran over to the farmers house to ask him if he knew what his cotton was doing. A man named Vern answered the door, but acted as he didn't know what was going on. Judging by the way he was dressed, and smelled, I knocked on the door before bath time. Standing a good safe distance so as not to smell this dirt farmer, I asked him if he has alerted anyone to what was happening outside his home? Have you brought this to your governor's attention?
He replied back that he didn't know there WAS a governor in Moonglow! (see exhibit B)

Going to visit the governor at his office, I found this note nailed to the door: "Not here at the moment"

I am amazed at what all I have discovered this week....
Something is not right in this town...

I and my guards have spent many sleepless nights scouring Minoc in search of any traces of this substance, as well as any evidence that the UHOH guild might have placed these containers there. I have yet to find any solid leads or evidence on this. Its rather concerning. I'm going to keep my eyes open and instruct all guards to keep searching, keep looking, and watch for any suspicious activity. I don't know what is going on in Sosaria these days, but the manufacturing and distribution of these substances must stop.

La Quintrala had an appointment with the Minoc reporter Nihilum last night.... Nihilum never showed. As a matter of fact, none of the La Quintrala's guards have seen Nihilum in the last few days.

After waiting for over an hour for the scheduled interview, La Quintrala went to search through the dungeon Despise. While in the dungeon, the rival group UHOH showed up in force and with a vengeance. As a result of weeks of differing opinions and a small disagreement over some hot food.... UHOH savagely and brutally murdered La Quintrala and then proceeded in massacring the noble Wallace, Moodswings, and White Ninja.

This type of political maneuvering cannot be in the best interest of the King.

** There was no cotton nor white substance anywhere to be found on this battleground **

If by brutally murdering, you mean waging war in the epic lands of Felucca defending their right of VvV, then yes I would agree with that.. (So I've been told).

There was no sign of Abhy/Lox at this fight either.

Well, er, um, it's all about how you write it suppose. But that doesn't make for very good drama now, does it.

Strange things are indeed happening.

After the interesting evening with Sir Gregory, er, his ghost? reincarnated body? something totally different and new? I, Resiew-Dub, spent the evening with Gov Cotton investigating every possible lead we could find. I would have that full report already completed and posted had I not also had to help La Quintrala and Nihilum recover from their particular event. Be that as it may, the morning after Sir Gregory's tour of suspicious events... I rechecked the Minoc docks (well, I rechecked all the cities) and realized that there was a map on the docks of Minoc. Of course, it was coded, so I could not make heads or tails of it.

** A little something about me. Long ago, before Gov Cotton and I were friends and before I began working in politics, I was a member of the Crimson Pirates. Please leave your judgements at the door. Anyways, when I was a pirate I met a treasure hunter named Captain Morgan and he have remained friendly ever since.

I called on Captain Morgan to solve the mystery of the treasure map on the docks.

Being the expert treasure hunter he is, Captain Morgan quickly uncovered the secrets of the buried chest and after killing the guardian forces, he unlocked it to see what was inside. Unfortunately, the treasure chest held no clues about the mysterious white substance. It appeared to be just a normal treasure chest.

Captain Morgan came to me with his report (though he kept all the loot from the chest) and went on his way. I will elaborate more on this event in my full report. However, I was disappointed that the map on the dock wound up being a dead end. I have a funny feeling that the map was purely a diversion to keep us investigators off track.

Resiew-Dub surmises that the treasure map was purely a ploy to attempt to pin the white substance shananigens on Gov Cotton.

The map's 'x' is right by one of Gov Cotton's castles. Well, kind of. Gov Cotton resides in the mirror realm of Felucca where as this map clearly is in Trammel.

Not only is my castle in the original realm of the world, but it is also much further east.
