Sonoma guild is seeking new recruits ...

If you are happy playing UO on this shard, this message is not directed at you. We hope you have a blast playing UO here, and continue to do so. We are not looking to steal players from other shards, but we do want to provide an opportunity for any players that may not be experiencing a UO life where they can login and play with an active guild that does events every night.

We are the People’s Army of Sonoma (PAS). We have been on Sonoma since the first day the shard opened (for 16 straight years now), and we have been the largest guild on Sonoma for almost all of our 16 years there. We are the good guys on Sonoma, and we do events every night.

We have a Ventrilo server for our players, and our public calendar at our website shows the events we are scheduled to do each month. You can also go back about 7 years on that calendar to see what events we did each night to get a feel for the kind of guild that we are.

We are looking for players from other shards that may be interested in moving to Sonoma to join us.

Yes, we do pvp activities. We typically rotate in and out of pvp events like CS, including Oaks, and Harrowers. About a month ago we did pvp for most events for about 2 weeks. 3 successful Oaks and 3 successful harrowers in that time. Our members then requested a shift to PvM for awhile, so our recent events are PvM. We are not predominantly a PvP guild, though. If I had to weight it over time, we do about 15% PvP and 85% PvM. We also do some roleplay events every so often to keep things "fresh".

A few years back, we had a series of 15 ingame events where we chased (and captured) Cantabrigian (Lord British). We then had an ingame trial with a judge, prosecuting and defending attorneys, and a number of witnesses (all players were non PAS that volunteered to be a part of the trial roleplay). Nothing was scripted, and everyone was asked to play their character however they felt the character would react ingame to events. In the end, the judge determined that while Lord British did commit crimes against the people (insta-kill guards in towns with no trials etc), he was declared insane and sent away to a prison for the remainder of his life. That was a bit of a shock ending, but based on the testimony, that was a logical decision.

On Sonoma, in our roleplay, I am the one true King, and Lord British and Blackthorn are the bad guys (all for fun, of course, and we don't roleplay our characters unless it's for an ingame fiction supporting a fun event).

So we try to be creative and rotate as many events as possible.

Sorry for the $4 answer to a 10 cent question. As the gm of PAS, my goal is to try to add "spice" to the game for my guildmates, and for others on Sonoma. Having fun while doing it is just a bonus.

Sorry, Sonoma already has a queen as well. I bet some Prince or King on Baja would be open to that offer though. I am definitely a rebel and do not subscribe to the UO fiction (since it is fiction, after all). I believe that every shard should have a one true King and Queen.

That's not bloody rebellious! That's staid! Live a little, man, you deserve to have two glorious queens. Possibly even three.

I know there have been some rumors going around that scantily clad females have been seen running around Nujelm Palace on Sonoma (the home of the Royal Family). Well, I am here to put those rumors to rest. They are true.
