Is there a set day of the month that tokens are given ? Or is it random on the time of month you claimed them ?

My account isn't old enough to experience the new (to me!) shard shields. Although I have no answer for you on the timeline question, I also would be interested in how they work, and can you accumulate them if not used...etc.

Yes they hold 10 tokens
I don’t know if they recharge in the day of the month you claim them or if it’s set to a pre set date each month
They also come with 1 token when first claimed

Thanks for that link, it explains a lot for when I am able (if ever!) to use these. Just one more question popped into mind after reading the FAQ's from the link. It said to say "I wish to release this' to unlock, remove or re-deed the shields, and NOT to use an axe or double-click. So if someone as scatterbrained as myself DOES use an axe or double-click for whatever reason, does it destroy the item? Or do you simply get a message that it cannot be done? I can see me being the dimwit that destroys my very first shard shield.

It will tell you "You can only use this on corpses" or something close. I did this exact action on my shields today. lol
It also will make a new token a month from the day you last claimed one.

Oh good!! Glad to hear I can't chop up and destroy a highly valuable veteran reward, had me worried for a moment.
