(RP) Science to the spirit's rescue... Thursday, 8pm (Rising Darkness Plotline)

Aryala

Adventurer
Stratics Veteran
They watched from afar as the Wanderer crept out of the void, faster than it had been able to do before. It was blatantly obvious, that the barriers were weakening at an alarming rate. There was a warning system in place now. Horns would be sounded, causing the citizens to scurry away to the towers to seek shelter behind the barricaded gates. So far it had worked, with no further casualties. However, it would only be a matter of time until more would break through the gap, maybe threatening even the mages that struggled to keep the rift sealed.

After a while Aryala stepped back from the battlements to return to a table set aside atop the tower. The researchers had not brought back many theories about the void. She pushed aside the first set of books. Lucy of Kenton had proposed casting Armageddon and, with some apparent insight, had stated right away that this possibility would not be explored. If the town was to be levelled then at least by the enemy, not by her own hands. Her second solution was to poison a victim and then to feed it to the creatures. Aryala supposed that it might even work, but it was a high price to pay to kill just a single one of the monsters.

Frechdachs on the other hand might have a point. Becoming friends with the gargoyles, learning more about the void and its creatures… it was a decent enough suggestions, but too slow by far. Before they would have made any progress in Ter Mur the barrier would have weakened and failed, spilling its horrors out into the world. To slow, but leading in the right direction. Not only Frechdachs had drawn a connection between the void and Ter Mur, but others as well.

Aurelius had made a link towards the Abyss, where the mysterious silver sapling could be found. He had named several of the healing properties of the plant and its seeds while also highlighting how the void and its creatures had not advanced into the Abyss. Alex Drake had also reached that conclusion. In addition, he had found a void core, some kind of magical source located inside a void creature. His suggestion to poison such a void core with the magical properties of the silver sapling intrigued her. This would at least be something sensible to try.

After a moment of hesitation, Aryala called the captain of the guard over and began issuing commands. As usual she was precise and calm, even though she feared that they had reached a dead end in their fight against the void…

The event continues on Thursday the 5th day of February, at 8pm in the evening. Come prepared for fighting and exploration. Meet at the void gap in Trinsic.
