Rune Beetle

So I have a great (old) rune beetle fully trained, good stats, great skills and 3 slots.
Should i keep him as a 3 slot pet or train him. It says when i go to train him he will become a 4 slot pet.

or is it better to just go and tame a new rune beetle to train to 5?

I would say get a 3 slotter that is as close to the weight as possible before it is a 4 slot. Training the 3 slotter will be better than going through just one round of training.

i was reluctant to muddle with any of my tried and tested old pets, so i left them all alone and went and tamed new.
i did this with my rune beetle and was surprised that i got one near a twin to my old one in about 4 minutes.

either the RNG was kind to me or they just spawn with hella high poison now!

When I started training my old RB it turned to a 4 slot and got 1 training round with him. If he is a really good one, you may very well have the same experience.
