“Rise my Brothers and my Sisters! We cannot stay here helpless to defend ourselves or to even Cure ourselves. This is a horrible trap! Not only is our home laid waste, but now we are so weak and ill we will be defeated in this strange land far from our ancestors!”

The tall Gargoyle tried hard to hide his own growing illness as he stood before his clan mates. The speech was a good one; it inspired action and stirred a few to take a stand against a Queen they never knew. The “blight”, as it was being called, had weaved its inky mess through the Gargoyle settlements wreaking havoc on the population seeking refuge in the new land.

It felt as if there was nothing being done to help the new refugees. They were brought to this strange land, far from their homes with the hope of being protected from harm. Instead they walked into a horrible scourge that was laying waste to their numbers in such record numbers soon there would be none from Vef Lor Reg left. They were being eradicated by their own kind. It was an outrage!

The only choice left was to take those who were still healthy enough to fight and confront the Queen. They were not to be thrown aside as if they were yesterday’s food scraps. How was it that the human healer cared more about their plight than the Queen who had invited them to this land?

*cough cough*

“We must go Now while we are still able!” he said trying desperately to hide the growing illness. “Who is With ME!”

A great cheer rose from the small crowd gathered to hear the speech of the self appointed leader. Several joined him as they made their way out of the camp to follow the road, hoping it would lead them to the Queen. They found a small hut out in the middle of nothing, but it looked as if it would be a good place to camp for the night. Resting would help insure they would be able to confront Zhah with eloquence and persuasion enough to draw her into their plight, if nothing else maybe infect her too!
