Riding Swipe

Does anyone know what variables actually go into predicting riding swipe? Some character's mounts are damaged and others are not, and despite some extensive testing I haven't been able to figure out how it's determined.

Riding Swipe hits a non-ethereal mount for damage. Ethereal mounts are not damaged. This damage only hits a mount if said player is mounted. However, unless it was changed recently, hitting a player smount will flag you criminal, and if you are in a guard zone, can get you guard whacked.

The effect of riding swipe varies according to offenders and targets.

[When a offender is walking]
(And when a target is riding a non-etherial critter)
- do a normal damage to the target
- dismount the target
- 10 - 20 non-elemental damage to the critter that the target is riding

(When a target is riding an etherial one)
- The etherial will be back in the backpack of the target and the target will get the non-elemantal damage that the riding critter should get

[When a offender is riding]
- do a normal damage to the target
- do 10 - 25 of physical damage to the target
- paralyze the target(3 seconds in PvP)
