The Festival of the Bear, well what else could you expect from the bearman? *Grins*
Twas a pretty good crowd that gathered for the festival, although visitors from other nations were few, but what can you expect when your on the brink of war with everyone? A few taints showed their faces which was good.
The Vesper recreation crowd was decorated with stuffy bears with free bearmasks to get into the festive spirit. People enjoyed a nice drink at the bar and a look at the bear display before the events got underway.
The first event that took place was bear wrestling where contestants would pit themselves against a heavyweight grizzerly bear. Whoever lasted the longest against this ferocious opponent would win the prize.
Trent Edwards of the Republican Army won the event by standing toe to toe against the bear for 54 seconds! He won a lovely engrave spirit of the totem.
The second event that took place was bear ball; basically bagball but with a golden bear mask instead of a ball. Four teams of three entered and battled it out through 4 matches on the pitch. Eventually the victors were:
1st Place - Trent Edwards, Amantala Chuck and Fangol who won 500,000 gold each and a festival polar bear mask.
2nd Place - Brandon Van Raily, Erasmus Ad'avis and Daniel Delacroix who won 250,000 gold each and a festival polar bear mask.
3rd Place - Angelica Wish, Commios and John Grey who won 100,000 gold each and a festival polar bear mask.
For the second half of the festival, Bear summoning was up first but an incident took place. A large band of bear poachers who had heard of the festival assaulted Vesper from south western forest trying to slaughter all bears in their path. The crowd armed and armoured up meeting these poachers head on in combat. It was a long bloody battle but eventually the majority of the enemy force was put down and the rest fled back into the forest.
Once the commotion was over, the people got back to the events. A quick contest of bear summoning took place in which contestants had 5 chances to cast the summon creature spell where the person who summoned the most bears won. The winner who summoned 3 bears! Was Kaylee Tamm who won 2 brown bear rugs, 2 polar bear rugs, a brown bear trophy and a polar bear trophy!
At the end of the night they moved onto the last event of Bear Racing! Contestants had to race bears down the track to the end by moving them one tile at a time, whoever came first won obviously. At the end of it all Trent Edwards took his second win of the night! He was awarded with a polar bear statue from Moonglow zoo!
