According to the Stratics "Monster Guide", Paragon Savage Warriors CAN be barded... Anyone verified that on these guys?

why wouldnt you be able to?

very few critters in game CANT be barded.

granted, ive never felt the urge to go kill savages, but i dont see why my L33T skills in barding wouldnt effect them any.

hell, now i kina wanna go bard some savages.

brb.

Actually, I had tried to provo 2 Paragon Savages last Friday on my 120 bard and failed twice.... That was the reason for the question, and thx for the response Poo.

i wasnt on my tamer, i was on my pure bard.
but id guess that since it was a paragon that maybe thier barding diff was 160?

if that was the case then even at 120/120 you run a high chance of a fail.

only think i can think of.

I'm thinkin' you're correct, and that I should have "stayed the course" and tried a few more times...

While we're on the subject of provoking monsters whose barding diff is above 120, am I correct to assume that my "effective" level of provo can be increased with jewels?

Ie, if my bard is 120 REAL (which he is) and I add +30 in jewels - then is his "effective" provo 150? Is that how he has a better chance of a successful provo attempt on a monster with a "barding difficulty" of 150 than my 120 provo bard (without jewels) would?

nope.

120 is that cap for barding skills.

the only thing you can do to modify the 120 is to have 120 music (you get a bonus)
and to use a slayer or GM exceptional instrament (another bonus ontop of the music bonus)

but short of that there is no way to get above the 120 hard cap on the skill.

Ok, Poo - I'll accept that from the "Prince of Bards", but then how is it possible to EVER succeed on any mob with a "barding difficulty" beyond 120?

you can effectivlly bard a critter + or - 30 points of its barding difficulty.

so if your say 120 in disco your range is like 90-150 barding diff.

so ya, your too low there to be effective against a 160 mob (peerless, high end paragon ect ect ect)

so where you make up in the numbers game is with the bonus's that you get.

so 120 your music. 20%
use a slayer or GM EX and add another 20%

so now your into the range of that nasty 160 mob.

which also explains why failing on top end mobs is a normal and frustrating thing.

actually lets look at the numbers on this.

lets look at a Dark Father on Dark Father action (hopefully none of you have a dirty mind like i do!)

so you have say 120 disco or peace (cant provo DF's) and only GM music.
your chance at getting a disco off on a DF is 0

so now we bump our music up to 120 our chance to get a disco off goes up to 10%

now we use a GM EX and we get up to 20%

NOW we use a Demon Slayer and we go up to 30% !!!!!

that help??
