The Shadowlords learned last night that the citizens of Legends were not willing to let them and their messenger, Lord Casca, have free reign over their lands. We were called to the Counselor Hall in Britain and were greeted by Lady Dawn and Candrin Devar. Dawn told us that a portal to the lair of the Shadowlords had been discovered along with their intent of rebuilding a corrupted version of the Gem of Immortality, over which they would rule. Our target was then clearly known... we had to find and destroy the Shadowlords and recover this corrupted gem.
Lady Dawn then opened a gate to the Daemon Temple where, after a brief skirmish with the local denizens, a portal was found at the top of the large staircase. Rushing through the gate we found ourselves confronted with numerous manifestations of the Shadowlords, blocking the way to the true Shadowlords. Warriors and tamers with grand pet dragons fought along the corriders of the dungeon, gaining ground slowly.
At last a room found, with a brightly glowing blood red gem in the center, and protecting it the true Shadowlords. The battle raged on and the cries of the fallen were answered by those valiant healers that are always with us to give aid, comfort and encouragement that the warriors may push on. Finally all was still.... the Shadowlords crumpled essences lying on the dungeon floor. Dawn approached the gem cautiously, admonishing all to stand back from the dangerous artifact. She then gingerly released it from it's stand and gently slipped it into her pack, saying that a safe place needed to be found to house it. It is not likely that any with the power of the Shadowlords will again enter our world, but a good stronghold to keep the corrupt gem sounds like a fine idea, indeed!
Everyone regrouped back at the Counselor Hall in Britain and after a bit of back slapping and generally feeling good about our accomplishment Dawn asked if anyone had recovered a shattered fragment of gem. Only one stepped forward, the valiant Jura Valleyforge of L*D guild. Dawn has said that there are three gems, so there are two unaccounted for at this time.
Dawn also had two announcements for us. First, by agreement of the High Council, Candrin Devar has been appointed Lieutenant of the Royal Guard and this was met with resounding approval as Candrin is much loved by the folks of Legends. Secondly she said that Captain Morgan has been commissioned to search for Lord Casca so that he might be brought before the Council for questioning and, possibly, charges for crimes against the Crown. We wish Captain Morgan a fair wind and following seas.
The people of Legends this eve have finally finished a very long journey which began with a tiny mad woman from the lands of Tokuno. Along the way, it is hoped, new friendships were forged in the heat of battle that will last into whatever adventures lie ahead.
