Saving Guardsman Dunn
WarderDragon
Two nights have passed since a Squadron of Britannian Guardsmen and Volunteer Defenders gathered at the behest of Lord Captain Jenkins. Their mission? To rescue Guardsman Recruit Trystan Dunn - if alive - and a Britannian Farmsteader from the clutches of Bane Commander Elyse.
It would be Master Hawkeye - bearing an enchanted seal cursed with the infernal touch of Lord Virtue Bane - who would perform the rite of abjuration, opening the Void Barrier and allowing the Britannians to spill over the curtain wall and into the encampment of an unprepared and unwitting Bane Legion.
Retribution was swift. When the last screams died and silence fell again over the Vale of Termir Ilshen, it would be the blood of a thousand Bane Paladins soiling the fertile earth. None were allowed to escape and warn their fellows. None taken prisoner.
Twas a Feast for the Crows.
The malnourished but breathing Guardsman Dunn was freed of his shackles and escorted back to Castle Britannia. There he revealed that the Prince Consort - Ors of Yew - was indeed being held by the Bane Chosen.
He also revealed - to the grim surprise of those gathered - that Virtue Bane possessed the power to control and manipulate the minds of his followers from afar. How many of the Bane Chosen were unwilling pawns in the scheme of the Demon Lord? How many Britannians are his servants? Only time will tell.
