The EM Meet & Greet/Question & Answer held in Felucca on April 2nd, started with a small crowd.

Possible Felucca events discussed:
  • PvP Tourneys
  • Team Duels
  • One on One Duels
  • Last Man Standing Duels
EM Faine Morgan: What I really want to know is IF we do those, can we wait to kill people until the event starts? If we give you an event to kill people at, the killing will have to be by the rules.

Suggestion by William Wallace: If killing happens before the event start, that team is disqualified.
Even if it were not PvP events directly, events involving a faction storyline would be fun. Possibly something like the SL event that incorporates factions and PvP.

EM Laurana: We can certainly build fiction into tourneys, even if it isn’t a Live Dev Team sanctioned bit.

EM Faine Morgan: We were thinking we could do some with pets, some without. I, for one, would like to host a chicken fight night.

William Wallace: If it’s an event with pets, maybe limit the pet, similar to that in the Stuffy Dwagon contest.

EM Faine Morgan: Guys, you need to understand something. If we do events in Fel, they’re open to everyone who wants to come and kill each other … within the event rules ...otherwise there’s not much point.

EM Laurana: With that, does anybody else have any constructive feedback?

SlimShan inquired: Were can we find out about the events?

EM Laurana: The EM web site and the Stratics Origin Forums. Both will have event information.

EM Faine Morgan: Also, I’m locking down lanterns in advance ... Yew Gate, for example.

Unfortunately, the meeting became too unruly to continue.

EM Faine Morgan: We constantly hear EMs don’t come to Fel … Fel doesn’t get any love … so we wanted to come and show you we wanted to try, therefore, it seemed to make sense to try to hold the meeting in Fel.

EM Laurana: The behavior here tonite clearly shows why Fel is passed over in favor of Tram for events.

EM Faine Morgan: Do you remember me saying we wanted to do events for EVERYONE? We meant Fel, too! This was to be an EVERYONE event.

EM Laurana: But we do not have crowd control powers.

EM Faine Morgan: We’ll see what we can work out for a Fel event, but I have to tell you honestly, if it goes like tonite, we won’t be able to keep them up.

EM Laurana: I hereby conclude this meeting. This may have been your test run; the behavior here tonite has failed miserably.

----------------------------------

Comments from the EMs after the meeting:
  • EM Laurana: The brief open forum disintegrated into turf wars.
  • EM Faine Morgan: We constantly hear ‘The EMs don’t do anything for Fel. The EM’s ignore Fel. The devs ignore Fel.’ We wanted to do something for Fel here, but we will not do it for one guild.
  • EM Laurana: If that’s how things run in Fel here, then things just won’t run in Fel. It has to be open to all.
  • EM Faine Morgan: The good news is we are willing to try ONE event PvP related, and see how it goes.
  • EM Laurana: EMs are just really just players.
  • EM Faine Morgan: We do two forms of events. We assist in the storyline events, which are developer events. Then we are allowed to run smaller scale events for fun, and that’s really our goal -- FUN!
  • EM Laurana: It’s not fun watching players be frustrated like tonite. There were certainly some players who tried to legitimately attend. Next time we want to MEET and TALK with the PvPrs they might have to bring a blue to Tram.
  • EM Faine Morgan: We need to prove we can pull this (Fel events)off!
----------------------------------

Sara’s Note: What our EMs are looking for is constructive feedback as to what types of events you would like to have held in Felucca, and some suggestions as to how the events would be held and controlled (be it word of honor from guilds, etc). They are asking for your help and ideas.

Keep in mind that EM Laurana and EM Faine Morgan do not have crowd control capabilities. If an event becomes too unruly to continue, all they can do is announce it is over and leave.

One of the excuses heard about the proceedings at the meeting was directed at 'cross sharders'. There was NOTHING about this meeting that would have enticed a cross sharder to try attend. No uber rewards were to be given out ... not even sashes. It was a Question & Answer session. And, at EM-ran Felucca mini events, if they happen, the rewards will be things such as 'bragging rights', a plaque, etc.

On that note, let’s try to keep this productive, and not turn this thread into a finger-pointing, accusation thread that will get locked. We can not change the past, but we can shape the future. Other shards have some great, well-attended Felucca events … Let’s get Origin on that list; after all, Origin is the biggest little shard in Britannia!

If you have ideas, comments, etc. you would rather not post on a public forum, you may use the feedback form on the EM website.

Well, there was one done recently, or most recently, to transport Ricardo to the Court of Truth. They had him in a cage topped wagon or cart drawn by two gaman.

The object, quite simply is to escort an npc or object, usually held in a pack animal of some type, across the roads overland from one town to another. Could be done with ships as well, but that would be way more complicated.

One team defends, the other attempts to foil the escort.

Arrival at the destination with said person, alive or the package intact, is a success for defenders. Usually Blues played defenders and reds raiders. I always thought it would be interesting to see the roles reversed. But given the general atmosphere in Fel that might be more trouble than it is worth.

This has and would also make for a good "guild war" limited by time or event.

I participated something like that once on Atlantic many years ago. My task was to pick up an NPC escort in Yew that wanted to go to Brit. My guild protected me and another guild (that had brought up the challenge) tried to stop me from getting the escort to Brit. We won but, there wasn't set route and lets just say they weren't too happy when I snuck in through the back door. There was a big fight near Yew cemetary and I escaped with the escort. Now being alone I new I'd be toast if I ran into more of them so instead of going south down the road I went around and down through snakes pass.

The Devil is in the details of the rules. The fact that it wasn't specifically disallowed in your agreement simply means you were the better tactician.

I so agree!
Yeah well, they didn't see it that way. From what I remember they had like 20 people waiting for me a Brit crossroads outside the pass, figuring when I escaped the first attack and my guild was busy fighting at Yew cemetary, I would be easy pickin's when I got down near Brit. I got the last laugh when everyone came to the Brit smith and found me & my released escort.

A few years back, I did sigil stealing and transporting .. it takes some cunning and a lot of teamwork to pull it off .. maybe you should try your hand at sigils!!!!!

those kind of event/challenges are fun and a huge draw on a few shards!!!!

*wink and a nod*
Proved my point. Outwitted 20. Heh. Might be worth noting as a comparison, that I doubt they had vent. And pre-ninja. But they could have tracked ya or split their forces if they had been a tad more fore thinking.

Gates are awesomely powerful tools for a large guild.
