Tonight marked a violent escalation in the war between Lord Casca and the independent kingdoms. The people of the realm joined together as one vast fighting force to defy Lord Casca. As warned of in books found on fallen mercenary warriors, Lord Casca’s armies poured out of the strange portals, lead by powerful Mercenary Captains and brought war on the Dark Tower and Avalon.

First, the mercenary armies lead an intense assault against the Dark Tower. The Dark Tower, Chaos Shrine and Scythe Village provided a refuge for the Dark Tower’s defenders as the King’s armies rapidly fell to spells, swords and dragons. The Mercenary Captain roared and charged out of the gate, leaving death in his wake. As he fought the Mercenary Captain urged his troops to fight harder and taunted individual defenders.

The battle raged up and down the road leading to the Dark Tower and the surrounding forests of Samlethe, strange creatures such as shadow fiends, executioners, controllers and mercenary scouts joining into the fray. The defenders suffered staggering casualties and were hard pressed to drive off the Mercenary Captain but at last, the vicious champion of Lord Casca’s armies was dead. For now the Dark Tower is victorious over the King’s threats of annihilation.

Meanwhile, word came that the City of Avalon was under attack. Quickly regrouping, the defenders went to the aid of the fabled City of Destiny. Joined by the armies of the Cartel, the defenders from all over the realm assaulted Lord Casca’s army.

The fighting raged first around the Avalon Commissary and Avalon Tower and then the defenders pushed Casca’s men back to the shores of Northern Avalon. Just as the King’s mercenaries had their backs to the sea and all hope of a royalist victory lost. Lord Casca’s second champion appeared through the black gate!

There was confusion in the ranks of the defenders as fighting broke out between the Cartel reds and Dawn. Fortunately Superken and Wildstar were able to negotiate a truce on the field and once again the defenders united against the King’s minions. Lord Casca’s Mercenary Captain was almost invincible and lashed the defenders with wave after wave of lightning bolts and lethal poison.

The Mercenary Captain healed himself several times over, draining life from summoned creatures and pets. Finally, working together as a team the Reaver of Avalon was slain and victory for the free people of Britannia was claimed. Baron Sleath Von Darkmor still wants to kill Lord Turbo Saius and chop off his head! Speculation abounds as to what Lord Casca and his cronies will do next.

Meanwhile, EM Seppo took comments from the participants back at his office. EM Seppo encouraged everyone to read the Golden Brew and watch for more books at the bank, warning that more attacks from the mercenary armies and their captains are likely in the future. Copies of the event rewards will be in the Baja Rewards Hall for all to enjoy.

Thank you once again EM Seppo and EM Pallando for all your hard work, planning and effort that went into bringing us this spectacular event.
