This last week and a half has left the players with numerous choices as to what to do. What with EM events running such as the Fall Festival Fishing Tournament and the Halloween Dungeon Crawl. To Mesanna taking the time last Sunday to visiting the shard for a few hours for the purpose of dying Jack O' Lanterns black.
As years before for Halloween the fields around the land are spawning pumpkins and jack O' Lanterns. The big change this year is that these ones have Catskills players' names on them. To have a named pumpkin or Jack O' Lantern spawn with your name on it. You need to be logged in game when it spawns.
If those events were not enough the players could trick or treat with the begging skill for candy and if you had enough skill maybe a rare item. Rumor has it that 4 new special items have been added this year for those skilled enough in begging.
Players also could take part in two new events one a live one and the other a Halloween one. The live one involves a quest giver stationed near the Trammel Britain Moongate. This quest giver ask for you to collect all the pieces of a virtue armor set, but the Cloak of Humility and return to him. {Arms of Compassion, Breastplate of Justice, Gauntlets of Valor, Gorget of Honesty, Helm of Spirituality, Legs of Honor, Sollerets of Sacrifice} All of these items can be found as virtue artifacts that sometime drop as loot in your backpack. You have to be in one of the anti-virtue dungeons {Covetous, Deceit, Despise, Destard, Hythloth, Shame, and Wrong} and you never know how many monsters you need to kill to get a drop. When you return to the quest giver with the proper items marked as quest items he will give you a replica of the Book of Truth.
The Halloween Event has a strange merchant standing near the Umbra Moongate selling Hellhound treats. Player can take these treats and feed them to a hellhound and watch it change into a Ancient Hellhound. Now this is a deadly beast but if you can defeat it there is a chance that you may find a Bloody Sash in your backpack. The sash has a fun special surprise if worn between midnight and six in the morning.

The ancient Hellhounds are very tough opponents who will teleport players to them. It also can suppress your ability to move and cast fast. Throw in it having a fast damage regeneration rate and most players cannot handle one alone. However it does take more damage from cold based weapons and the mage 5th level spell Mind Blast.
The most popular way of getting the sash on Catskills right now is to lure a hellhound away from the Bane Camp near the Spirituality Moongate in Ilshenar to the Oaks Champion Spawn. Once close feed it the Hellhound treat and let the good aligned creatures there help attack it. The preferred method is to have a herder with you who can gather a large group of Ki-rin to help take down the ancient hell hound. (The ancient Hellhounds high damage regeneration rate makes it hard to kill if it is not taking high amounts of damage constantly.)
You may ask why I would want to go through all that trouble? The simple answer is to get the Bloody Sash. The sash turns the wearer into a werewolf at midnight in game and you will remain as one till 6 in the morning unless you remove the sash. Be warned though that if you are on a mount at midnight you will be dismounted, and you will not be able to take any other form while in werewolf form.
