[Newbie Q] Where do I buy my first set of armor?

Sorry to have to ask here. I read a few guides...this one in particular....

It says to buy armor with high physical resist and a bunch of other stats. The NPC vendors only sell regular armor. The armor I loot isn't very good. I ran all around town by Luca and checked out each vendor....no luck there. My "vendor search" is grey (can't access it for some reason. Maybe b/c I'm still on free-trial period) I tried to solo earth eles at 75 swords/75tactics and I'm getting rocked!

So I have the gold.... where do I buy/get better armor? Btw, I'm on Atlantic so it definitely isn't the lack of player vendors (although most are empty still)

You can either have a crafter make you a suit to custom specifications or use the in game vendor search to look for each different part and then put a suit together.

Making a Palladian. I decided to pay the subscription fee to get access to vendor search. Doing that....I was able to piece together a suit with 70 of all resist. Now I can kill daemons and dragons! Having that gear made a huge difference.

The vendor search only works if your in a safe log out area. Inn, tavern, house or so on. There is clean up vendors around the W Brit bank you can get armor off of aswell by just throwing stuff away. Clean Up Britannia (2011-Present) - UOGuide, the Ultima Online encyclopedia

Mostly, ask in help chat and someone will more than likely help you. Explain your situation and such.
