Need help with furniture

I have a hardwood table dyed white, its the kind that comes in a deed, i need a 2nd one, so i made one from oak, and it wont let me dye it, i tried pigment and plant dyes and no go, i made the first i have long time ago and cant remember how i did it

There is a bug of sorts. You can only dye the deeded furniture before you place it the first time. Once its been placed and redeeded (I'm sure thats a word) it won't dye.
