(Question) Muddy things in Yew

Is that over? I was running about the area and was accosted by "A Muddy Mess", smacked it a few times, it fell over and dropped 25 copper ore. Do you hunt them until you get a quest drop? I tried various things to get the criers to say more.....

So far the only muddy mess I have seen in Yew is the footprints leading from my front door to the bedroom. It would seem that those of us who call the area home are doomed to be forever caked in a layer of mud.
