Mining/Smelting Question

Real simple. I'm a returning player on Siege who wants to be able to do two things. I want to both be able to smelt iron ingots and all the weapons that I get from other stuff at a 100% effectiveness level.

What skill level should I be at? I'm not interested at all in colored ingot/weapon considerations. Thanks.

There's no such thing as a 100% return on ingots. Theoretically, it would take about 134 mining skill to get 100% return.

The ingot return from smelting items is 0.66% times your Mining skill. That means, the best you can get, without gloves of mining, is 66% (rounded down) at 100 skill.

+3 or +5 Gloves of mining can put you over 100 (101.1 required to get over 66.67%, to get 2/3 ingots back, rounded down).

The Salvage bag that you can buy from a provisioner, when used to salvage smithed items, returns 1 extra ingot, per metal item salvaged.

Smelting Iron ore, IIRC, takes something like 80 skill to smelt successfully 100% of the time, but you will BARELY get half your ingots back from crafted items.
