[Treasure Hunting] Luck and Party

I have 2300 luck on my treasure hunter and do maps with a tamer which has 140. will his low luck affect the content of the chest? should we not be in party before the chest is up? so far i have left the party prior to the digging and invited him back after we killed the spawn to give him looting rites. is this necessary?

The loot in the chest is based on the luck of the player digging up the chest only.
