Has anyone heard why the official forums are down?

I refuse to get a facebook account so I'm just wondering if there is something posted there I can't see.

I didn't notice. i rarely go to their site unless i have a question, but then i search the forums for my answer

I see they made an announcement and the forums are back up.

Yup, I use their site to search for answers I can't find anywhere else.
