So, I was nosing around on the UOHerald.com, and clicked on live events - I guess all of these have been around since Jan 1st, 1970. I kind of got a kick out of that. I go to the playguide and click on 'Plant System' to see what kind of info they had on it, and to see if it was even accurate. (I used to grow plants like crazy!) Here's what I got:

"We have just recently completed a major overhaul to the Herald's back end content management system. Due to this we're busily working to re-populate all of the content within the play guides, until that time we apologize for this brief interruption and check back soon - thank you!"

Ya, how soon? 2020? Lol. Kind of frustrating, and would be to new players no doubt. I guess if I need any info or want to look up stuff I will just come to good ol' UO Stratics forums.

And what exactly is the Herald's back end content? lol

Well, the upgrade was just a few months ago, and the majority of the data either was AoS era, or stuff last updated by Jeremy 2-3 years ago.

Some people would say that the Herald's back end content is their own heads.

And the 1970 date (or end of 1969,with whatever days passing since added) is typically what systems stick in as a default when the date tag on files are lost, after a serious system/data reconfiguration, and the techs neglect to set the date on the machine during the changes (having wiped even the default date set when the battery was installed on the motherboard at the factory during assembly)
