Commander,
I trust this finds you well and that Britain remains secure and peaceful. I have not heard of any new pirate attacks, but I am sure you would have informed us if assistance had been required in the capital.
Being concerned by the the recent pirate attack here, I requested the Trinsic City Watch to search the southern islands for any possible bases the pirates might be using. I am writing to inform you that the searchers located a very large group, estimated to be 10 boatloads or more, on Valor Island. I enclose a map showing the location.
The Watch disposed of the pirates efficiently, but found no evidence of a base as such. However, it was discovered that some of them wore the same Serpent Fang badges as the pirates who have attacked in Britain, Trinsic, and elsewhere. This is strongly suggestive of an organised group; moreover, a group with considerable power and resources.
I have a further piece of news which I find greatly concerning: the drow have either found another source of blackrock, or had amassed sufficient for their purposes before their mining operations were shut down. One of my Watchmen has been shown a sword of extreme potency, claimed by the drow who demonstrated it to be made from blackrock which has been transformed in some way. This sword was able to cut through solid rock and may conceivably have other powers which were not shown. .
I would appreciate it if you could also keep your eyes and ears open for information regarding either pirates or drow. We will continue our investigations, and inform you of any more news.
