I gave my Mage+Necro+Weaver the SA promotional unique pet, the Vollem.

Well, I have zero experience with promotional Unique Pets, but this one, is not selectable by the target nearest friendly and it is not selectable by the target nearest follower.

It does take up follower slots.

I certainly do think so, unless your a Tamer.

One might think of a, 2 slot, non ridable Nightmare that instantly bonds with you and requires no Taming or Lore skill. It looks and sounds like a Repltalon, except it is a silvery white and 1/2 the size.

I let my Mage+Necro+Weaver claim it and it certainly does fit/complement that template.

I can augment it with a Charmed Ogre Lord OR Natures Furies(x3) OR the Summoned Fey+Natures Fury, and augment all of them with 3 undead things, if there are corpses. Well and of course the full compliment of spells for Magery, Necromancy and SpellWeaving.

I would imagine it works equally well with any template that either does not need to be concerned with healing it or has the means to heal it.

I would imagine it is more of a Plus to PvP than to PvM.

I can imagine one use being See a Tamer with a Greater Dragon, then sic the Vollem on the Tamer and lead the Greater Dragon off. Lose the Greater Dragon and go loot the Tamer Corpse.

I've been told that this is heal-able as any pet, using magery, spellweaving, chivalry or vet skills. I am also waiting to see which character would get the most benefit from this pet before I claim it.

I'm waiting too. But also waiting for them to give me the code that I didn't get.

I was thinking about giving it to my non-tamer garg and then have it fly together on the skyway thing and such. (It does fly I hope!)
Plus it can help as he gathers resources for his imbuing whilst trainig magery & mysticism. I think it would make a good compliment.

Or put on a miner for the elementals? *ponders*

Yes all spells can be cast on it, specifically Cure, Greater Heal, Bless and it can cast them itself.

It has full Magery (once it is fully trained).

Yes, I have seen it go into Fly Mode. It is somewhat slow, so I assume that was to keep it from Unbalancing PvP.

Jusy my 2CP's, I need to check and see if a Pet Ball will work on it. If so, then that may, some what, mitigate the problems for a Hider/Stealther.

I do believe it will work better for a Template that has good Healing ability OR Good DPS ability.

Of the Templates I have(Gatherer, Disco+Peace, Mage+Necro+Weaver), I am glad that I made the Mage+Necro+Weaver choice.

I assume you meant no Resist Skills and that would be correct.

The combination, is

Primary: Magery, Necromancy, SpellWeaving

Secondary: EvalInt, SpiritSpeak, Focus, Meditation

Based on memory, Primary Effective (meaning Plus Jewelry) is 110

Secondary Effective is 100

I think total Jewelry Effective bonus is around 40

I think I'll give the Vollem to my lazy Mage/Scribe. She's weak and needs a good escort.
I will then tell you if I can target it using next friendly/follower.

Update: done! That's a nice pet indeed! Anyway, I had no problem with targeting: it works as expected for me. Try again and let us know.
