[Discussion] I think end of November would be a great time for another rares festival
i got all my rares on chessy, but gl would be fun to go to, i wish i could host but working 80+ hrs a week would make that tough lol
it was longer than 4 weeks ago, end of November would have been 3 months+ which originally we thought of having a quarterly anyway. Plus the fact that there have been a lot of activities on various shards and Halloween along with many other event drops etc... makes it time I think.
Thanksgiving in the U.S. is Thursday, November 26 this year. Maybe that would be a good time, since most Americans don't have to work the following day, making a four-day weekend. A good block of time for browsing rares!
Great Lakes would be an excellent choice! Of the Ring's village of Luna houses would naturally be an ideal location, but if he's not interested, I can offer two or three large houses a short run from Luna's west gate, if needed.

Of the ring and my self had already talked about the NW corner my house and his house as a good spot so 2 of of could match times online i hit during the day and at night but i will be out of town thanks giving weekend if we choose that weekend im out
Sounds like a great plan. Too bad Luna is major ugly and perhaps, bit too early in my opinion. However, if you are willing to arrange it and people show up, it does not matter 
Well, some have suggested after new year. One good thing though is I am sure there will be many shards with Xmas events so will add even more potential items to the festival. What do you all think? Thanksgiving weekend or weekend after new year.
I was actually thinking of hosting one on Pacific in January maybe like first or second week into it. I personally think November is to soon, as good as the last one was hosted and set up (and it was) I didnt find a large selection of rares like the one before. I will go with the majority though. I have already talked to a cpl of collectors on Pacific who like the idea and will help me host it.

I'd vote for after the New Year.
Really? I thought it was completely the opposite. Perhaps, you were just unlucky because things were flying quite fast. Some of the items sold within 2 mins of being stocked.
Well I don't mind having it on Pac as well. It is a popular shard like GL. So its really up to you guys. Of The Ring is not on much so may be Pacific after the new year would be better. Thoughts?

I have recently shut down payment on my account and turned over almost every item I had to my good buddy Wizzax.
One item I held onto but now am feeling I should open it to the market is my Open Book "www.uo.com" titled.
I have had this since it was created by a GM personally for me.
(The back story is that at some point in time the website for those roleplayer open books actually was a porn site. If memory serves I think Link might have actually been the one who notified me of this one day. I saw this as an opportunity and paged a GM acting slightly offended that an in game item I had referenced a porn website. So the GM was kind enough to alter the name for me.)
It is 100% unduped and 1 of a kind. Never left my possession since it was altered by the GM (Had to leave an idoc log cabin waaaaaay back when idocs were fun to have the convo with the gm about the situation).
To the point.....
If someone running this festival can come up with a sweet contest of some sort. I am more than willing to throw this sweet ass item up as the grand prize.
So whoever is running it. Get in touch with me via Q and lets talk details.

Well if the majority would like it in Jan and doesnt mind going to Pac I would be happy to host it. I will find a place close to luna or umbra for convenience reasons and place a 18X18. Ill watch to see what the consensus is and early in December I will start posting about details and dates, and registering and the sorts. A guildie of mine is willing to pool in his impressive rares with mine for a nice display for the week. I will do extensive advertising on shard forums as well to try and get as many on board as we can. SO please let me know and we would be honored to host this event.
pac would be fun, was actually thinking of moving my collection there anyways
