How much magery should I aim for if i want best chance at super slayers?

I read somewhere 110 magery is suitable and anything above that barely makes a difference, can't remember where I read it, but i don't like the idea of paying 15m for a +20 scroll if it "barely makes a difference".

Could someone explain how it is?

You can certainly make super slayers with 110 magery.
You can also make 3 modifer books at 110 magery.
The higher your magery the better your chance of making said books.
So perhaps at 115-120 you would make them more often.
