I am playing via wifi
This could be the root cause of your disconnects. You might want to check out some of the articles you should be able to find about what can cause you to drop your wi-fi connection and see if any of them apply to you (e.g., cordless phone signal interference, garage door opener interference, microwave oven interference, wireless router is overheating, etc.).

I quit losing connection when I quit using wifi and switched to an ethernet cable from the PC to the modem. I live in an apartment in urban area - too many other wifi connections around cutting into my signal
EDIT: I should have said cable from PC to router

My best guess is someone else near you is using the a wifi radio on the same channel as yours. Try connecting with a hardline and see if it goes away. The trace you did looks normal.

Ty everyone. Yes it does it in both clients. I'm playing at my kitchen table, so there's a cordless phone, microwave, and my sis is sitting across from me on her laptop via wifi. Lots stuff connect to the wifi like iphones, our ipads, directv box, two smartvs, xbox360 and PS3. This didn't start happening until the last 6 month and has grow steadily worse. I been play via wifi on laptop since aug. 2012 when I got it. I will definitely go read those articles. One question why isn't sis being affected its just me?

Switch spots with your sister see if reception is better?
Could be any number of things - wifi card going bad in your laptop.

Question is, are you disconnected from anything else at the same time (chat programs, ventrillo, etc.)

I started having connection issues also. I called my cable company and they checked and said I had no disconnects on their end. they said my wifi was probably the problem. They suggested taking out wifi and doing Ethernet cable and see if it improved. I took that suggestion and found out it was my wifi that started causing that problem. either don't use wifi or buy new wifi equipment is my suggestion.

Well UO is very stable for me. To run this out logically then it's probably not UO, it's probably on your end. So looking at that... are all your connections clean and tight? Are your cables in good shape? Maybe try switching some out if you have extras. If that's good then it's probably your ISP. These problems usually only show up playing games. You probably wouldn't notice it just browsing. I use a hard wired connection to my computer, it trumps Wifi. I've found things where my cat has chewed the wires etc, which can cause major problems. I had a major problem for a few days cause the line to my router had become loose moving it to dust (I assume). But if all of that is solid then I'd be calling your ISP. A bad drop to your house might only give you problems when it rains, or is windy, or when the squirrel runs on it, and can be difficult to catch. I know Comcast can watch your signal for a few days and try and catch faults. I had Comcast out to my house and he was watching my signal where it came to the house. He was showing me how it was perfect. We watched it for a minute and it suddenly went off the scale with a bad reading. He replaced my drop and put a work order in for the main line and all is perfect now. So if you run a trace it might be awesome now and 10 minutes latter be horrible. It is also possible your router is going bad if you've had it for awhile, that does happen. But packet loss is a killer and I feel that's your problem for"some reason" regardless of what the trace says. It's very possible things were good when you ran that trace. I believe DSL Reports has an online application that can check your connection for days at a time if you wish. Might let that run all night and see what it says. If packet loss shows up, there ya are. Well... good luck! Keep trying! It won't fix its self.

When I say router... my wifi, router, phone, are all combined into one box. So switch those terms in my post as you see fit :)

I had a problem a few months ago with my connection dropping.. it turned out to be a splitter in my bedroom splitting the cable to run to the bedroom tv and the modem.. while troubleshooting I noticed it worked fine when I bypassed the splitter and ran straight to the modem.. bought a new splitter at Radio Shack and it works now.

This. And save some time and frustration for the future, go ahead and spend the money for the good one.

That's good advice for every situation. Buy it right, buy it once. Buy it cheap, buy it twice.

You mentioned wifi, is it a modem/router supplied by your ISP or are you using your own router behind the modem? Is it secured? Someone could be leeching off of your network and if they are competent enough they could also be screwing with you. Change your passwords if you haven't lately and move your laptop to minimize interference between it and the router. Ultimately gaming machines should have a secure wired connection to the router. On my machine I even still use a wired mouse and keyboard (wireless mice and keyboards tend to run out of charge/battery power at the most inopportune times).

edit: oh and I've been getting the fatal error for a few months now. Have a post about it in the tech forums with absolutely no help and no response to a report.

One other thing, I don't know if it's your problem or not. We had a wireless router at one time, then some of the kids moved back in with us and brought their Ps and assorted stuff. I could play fine until they fired up the PS, then it was disconnects over and over. So I cabled into the router, helped a little but not much. In frustration we finally had them come out and put another drop in the house, running a hard wired router on one, and wireless on the other...sad to pay two bills, but it did solve the problem. It was either that or sledgehammer the PS, which would made a lot of people mad :p

You could run a direct link, wired to your modem and setup your IP to game specific - Ultimate Online - will make for much smoother gameplay even if it doesn't become the solution.

*UPDATE*

Okay Xbox and PS3 are unplugged! I can't unplug the (not-so)smarttvs or the directtv boxes(You know how long it take one of those damn HD DVR things to reboot?) . Ipads/iphone shouldn't be problem as I made sure ALL apps are closed , iOS 8 ( rant2: :cursing: Apple!) is downloaded and installed. I haven't been able to connect laptop to the modem yet. I will try to get to it after we get a "friend's" laptop fixed. I wish this person would understand you MUST update antivirus software for it to work, you MUST download/install windows updates or windows turns to steaming poo. Also she must learn NEVER click on a popup or download anything from a popup. You can imagine what we've been cleanling off and deleteing, good Lord!!! Anyhoo, nuff about that. I will keep tackling my connectivity issue. I can tell you that I also lose conn on the Cengage.com website where I do acting homework. I though it was the crappy website. Also lose conn with E-campus aka Easy Campus power by blackboard again I though it was the fact that E-campus is a known steaming dung heap. Even the Profs complain about it. That's about it for now, thanks for the help. Keep the advise coming I'll test anything.

You are "fixing" someone elses computer while asking here how to fix yours?
*mildly confused*
As everyone said. Hardwire to your modum. See if the problem continues. If it does not, hardwire to your router. See if the problem continues. Report here your findings.

To be fair, a monkey could run Windows Update and antivirus/spyware software

I use Homeplugs. I was sceptical they'd be any use, or that they'd be slow and useless, but they have actually turned out to be very good. Basically you plug one into an electrical socket near your router and connect it to the router with a standard Ethernet cable. You then plug a second (or more) in anywhere else you need it again connect the plug to your PC or whatever via an Ethernet cable. It then uses the houses electrical cables as a wired network.
