Help on an in-game idea

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to find a game no one has attempted before, that can involve either players playing the game individually, or a mass number of players playing one large game. The game set up and system has to be able to fit in an 18x18 house, the number of levels can vary. Since this is a brainstorming thread, all ideas are welcome. Thanks

Those are some interesting requirements ... a solo or multiplayer puzzle?

Some amazing mazes have been built out there (which can be solo puzzles or multiplayer races with everyone watching everyone else tumble into dead ends) ... but you want something new?

*ponders what toolkit of switches and triggers exist in the game to construct it from*

Thats the thing. I'd like to make it either solo or multiplayer. Such as a buy in to start the game. The more people playing, the bigger the prizes. Possibly a one item award for a single player, and a batch of items for multiplayer winners. The multiplayer winners then roll for each item, so essentially if u win, u dont have to try to win again, you're guarenteed something. Just the roll as to wat that something may b. So if someone likes to roll solo, he/she can play solo. If a guild wants to come in and make it like an "event night"...you know something different from spawns or watnot, its a little mix it up. But I'd like to make something people can do in-house. Not necessarily a maze because those have already been created. Something more challenging. Possibly key-box puzzles...something else. Something other people will enjoy coming back for. Money gain isnt the object...something fun for everyone to do is

CIGO the best in live casino gaming,

Is a multiplayer or single player dice/game show type game that can be played in 18x18.
It originates from Legends, Casino Pit Boss being the inventor, and has been played on several shards,
Im not sure if it is still played on any other shards ATM, but i am a member of the CIGO guild still, which pit boss is in.
Most likely when he returns (from what must be a break for him) Im sure he might start a casino back up...I would consider it if I owned a custom house.

If your not familiar with CIGO I would read some about it, maybe get some ideas from my favorite UO game.

Ah, a carnival/casino games ... that's another set of possibilities isn't it.

*brainstorming abstractly*

There needs to be a source of randomness, some sense of progress, player decision points that can affect the outcome.

What about a snakes-and-ladders type game? make the house a board and the host rolls dice for each player. Use house tiles or gaza mats to create the board (which might span different levels with different types of events on different levels). Different squares let you do different things to yourself or to other players, so for a single player its sort of a puzzle game with random setbacks (and some threshold where you lose), played in teams or a free-for-all, you can help or hinder each other. Obviously the whole thing has to be moderated (and slows down a little for lots of players taking turns), but once you have the initial mechanics, you can create all sorts of different boards and add different twists to the rules, essentially making different boardgames.

(With the flexibility of the new SA interface, I wonder if it would be possible to create a skin with windows and triggers reacting to messages passed back and forth, essentially creating your own minigame rules right into a custom UI? *needs to think about this one some more*)

Its nice to have an area for onlookers allso, it helps new people to familiarize themselfs with the game before stepping up to the plate.

I had an idea where (imagine a board game), 4 sides. Each side has 12 tiles to form a square. There are 4 "colors" representing 4 teams, one on each side of the square. Each team has a start and finish which are 2 tiles from the outside track inward. The first team rolls the dice (say they get 11). They then move 2 squares forward to get on the track, and 9 squares to the left. Now this is where the trick begins. The dice goes around to the other 3 teams, then back to the first team. They can either roll and move their first player closer to the finish mark, OR they can move their second player out onto the board. When it comes close to the end, player 2 cannot pass player 1, so player 1 has to move. The difficult part is the finishline. If player 1 has 1 square to move on the track, and 2 squares to the actual finishline, he/she essentially needs 3. If player 1 rolls anything BUT a 3, the roll must go to move player 2. The ONLY exception to that is if a 7 is rolled. Then player 1 gets the 3 he/she needs and player 2 gets the remaining 4. Hows that sound??

ya, its similar to that. only id like to make it so that after the 1st person gets to the finish, they teleport to another level in the house, for a 2nd track, maybe something different where i can still use 4 teams so it mixes it up a bit. wat u think?
