Then what about from 116.1 to 120? /php-bin/shared/images/icons/wink.gif

Just checking, but is all this still true as of Pub 27?

I just went through 250 cloth at 102.1 (PSed to 110) without a single gain. It's not the waste of cloth that bugs me, but the time...

Nevermind. It still works. I just gained .3 in the last 50. Gains started after making around 350 oil cloths.

Still works, here's my gain log post GM:

100.0 - 109.6 ~11.5k cloth (rough estimate)

1600 hides on beetle, 350 in backpack, with 10-15 store bought sewing kits per round. (Kits take 2 ingots to make = 18-20 gp. Store bought are 3 gp per. Exceptional kits aren't better enough on average to justify the ingots.)

Studded gorgets:
109.6 - 110.8 +1.2
110.8 - 111.7 +0.9
111.7 - 112.3 +0.6*
112.3 - 113.2 +0.9
113.2 - 113.5 +0.3*

Studded bustiers:
113.5 - 114.2 +0.7
114.2 - 114.7 +0.5*
114.7 - 115.4 +0.7
115.4 - 115.7 +0.3*
115.7 - 116.2 +0.5
116.2 - 116.7 +0.5
116.7 - 117.1 +0.4*
117.1 - 117.9 +0.8

Studded (female) armor:
117.9 - 118.1 +0.2*
118.1 - 119.0 +0.9
119.0 - 119.5 +0.5
119.5 - 119.8 +0.3
119.8 - 120.0 +0.2

17 rounds x 1950 hides = 33,150 to get to 119.8; 1601 hides to get to 120.0 for a total of 34,751 hides.

I generally switched servers after every two or three rounds, denoted by the asterisks. First was house in Malas (near Luna), second Tram Skara, third Tram Delucia, fourth Umbra, fifth Fel Jhelom, sixth Fel Nujel'm, seventh house in Tram (between Brit and Cove).

I did all of the tailoring basically straight through over a two day period. My perception was that switching servers gave a "bump" when gains started slowing. This could certainly be random, but it did seem consistent at the time.

I hit 109.6 on oil cloths and ate 1,600 hides on gorgets without a single gain. /php-bin/shared/images/icons/frown.gif

Question: How long (time table) is it taking everyone to get these gains? Are you going from 100 to 120 in a week? two weeks, a month or is this strickly getting your .1 GGS per day, possibly .2 etc. Are you taking 40k of cloth and burning throught it in a few hours to go from 100 to the 109 etc.

Thanks,
Taz

Just a thought, shouldn't this post be made sticky? Was looking for a guide on gains and most of the other forums have theirs at the top.
Anyway, thx for the list of what to make.

I think people look in the FAQ for a guide on gains. The information is in the FAQ along with a link to this thread.

Horray!
A New Legendary tailor on Europa now, less than 10 minutes ago got the last gain.:)
..Did it greately thanks to this wonderfull "gain from 100% items"- feat and specially people who have studied, experimented and documented the "how to's" of tailoring training.

Some results and more or less superstitiousness-inspired findings, hope this helps someone.(Some/all of these "observations" are just my paranoia and are miles away from being facts, i am sure.:)ä

From 109.6 to 120, used about 36-38k leather.(I recycled everything)

As stated somewhere earlier on this thread. changing servers seems to help. Whenever I noticed hitting a wall or just suffering from very, very slow gains I would recall into a different town/sever and kill myself. This almost always seemed to tear the gainwall down and improve the gains for a while.

Bustiers seemed to give gains much better than gloves.
Studded armors seemed to give gains much better than sleeves.

At one point, I burned some 600 bones in the process making bone helms and an occasional bone tunic. Not a single gain from them..and since they can't be resycled or even sold, I wouldn't bother.

Phew. off to sleep now. /php-bin/shared/images/icons/smile.gif

OK. I just finished taking my tailor from GM to Legendary on Pacific, and here are the numbers:

What I made:
100-109.6: Oil Cloths
109.6-114: Studded Gorgets
114-118: Studded Gloves
118-120.0: Studded Sleeves

Cloth Used: 7,655 (way less than I expected)
Leather Used: 37,624 (a little less than the last time I did it)

Time:
GM - 110: 4 hours 20 minutes
110 - 120: 5 hours 24 minutes
Total Time (spread over 3 days): 9 hours 44 minutes

Last summer when I took my Napa Tailor to 120, he used a little over 40,000 leather and it took him about 11 hours.
