I noticed something yesterday with my Gem of Salvation. When I died, the rez window popped up asking if I wanted to be rez'd. I chose no since I had a guildmate near. My guildmate rez'd me but it still used my Gem of Slavation. It gave me the message that the Gem has been used. Was this intended?
It kind of stinks if the Gem gets used up if a player/NPC can rez you.
