[EM Fiction / Event] "The Soultaker" by EMCrysania and "Dragons of the Dark Prophet."
Tiamet slept a troubled sleep. Her mind was invaded by dreams of an unusual nature. It was almost like she had drifted into a trance instead of sleep.
Scenes flowed through her mind of the Evil One, Murdock. She could see him plainly and hear his words as if she were there, standing in the chamber with him. As her minds eye watched, she saw him as he ...
... stood gazing into the Crystal Ball, watching as the first of his armies were defeated. Each Shrine he had sent them to had been protected and saved by the People of the Realm and that Dragon.
"Now I know their strength. What they are capable of. I can proceed with my plans," he said to the Spirits bound in the Gems surrounding the Crystal Ball that were watching as well.
"The Shrines were just a ruse, and they walked right into it! They did not realize I wanted to see what strength they had. What better way than to get them to protect something they live by?" He smirked. "Who would have thought they would have listened to that Wretched Dragon!"
"Now, my pretties," he said to the ones surrounding him. "It is time to defeat them. I want that SOUL!"
The Spirits swirled in the Crystals as if in restlessness, agitation.
"What? What!? You know that I cannot release you. Even though I gained your souls in the same manner, the time is not right! When I finally get the Soul of the Wizard then I will release you to be combined with mine. And soon I will be the Greatest Dark Wizard that ever walked this Realm!"
Walking to the door, Murdock fitted a key and turned the lock. Pushing the door, he watched as it swung open. Stepping inside, he pulled the door closed and relocked it behind him. He strode to where the four pedistals stood, each with a large gem atop it. Three of the Crystals were filled with Spirits as as the other smaller ones that surrounded the Crystal Ball had been.
The fourth stood empty.
Staring at the empty crystal, Murdock spoke. "It will not be long now before the cycle will be readied. Three crystals I have filled with the Souls of the Greatest Wizards to be found. The fourth stands ready to capture the Soul in that Blastest Beast! Once I have it, I will go into the Center Crystal on the Pedistal and draw upon your energy. For that is what will make me the most Powerful of Wizards."
The Three in the Pedistal Crystals swirled in anger, as if in defiance of Murdock.
"You have no choice! I have mastered you, and you will bend to my will. Now, on to make preparations and to get the last soul needed. It is time I fulfilled my destiny."
Murdock walked over to an ornate chest resting upon a table. Carefully, he fitted a key into the lock. He opened the chest and removed a bottle of dark liquid.
"You see this?!" he cackled. "It contains the tears of the Beast Tiamats ancestors. This is what shall lead her to me so that I might contain her and steal the Wizards Soul. She will not be able to resist searching for this one she knows I have it. Then I shall have her."
The Souls hummed in agitation, their mist forms growing dim then bright again.
"I have placed a protective charm upon this room. It shall be Guarded. Any who dare enter - who dare try and stop me - will be met with opposition. Now I must go and start the event leading to the Beasts capture."
Murdock left the room and locked the great doors behind him. The Souls inside hummed with energy. Were they obidient to the False Priest?
Or were they enraged over what was about to unfold?
Tiamat woke with a start. She couldn't remember what she had dreampt of. Just that it involved Murdock - Lost Souls and Tears - tears that her ancestors had once shed. She felt a strong urge to find the Evil One. To stop whatever it was he had started. She rose to her feet and started off to find the people that had become her friends.
With their help perhaps she could end this once and for all. Become herself again ...
