Aydenn found Eliza at the table of her workshop in Minoc. Books surrounded her and pillowed her head as she slept. Aydenn found himself watching her sleep. She was beautiful and incredibly smart. The books surrounding her were about sea creatures, rocks, eggs, gemstones, oysters, clams, legends, mystical creatures, pirates, treasures, the building of ships, weather patterns, and the list went on. Aydenn was amazed. When she said she would do some research he had assumed she would do *some* research, not this! This was a massive undertaking for one person.

Outside Aydenn heard the cries of battle. The sea serpents would still on occasion surround Minoc and even come on land. The Minoc townspeople were getting used to their presence and adjusting their lives accordingly. However the sense of unease in the town was growing. Not because of the Sea Serpents, but because of the Cursed Pirates.

The Cursed Pirates didn’t do a darned thing. They didn’t move, they didn’t talk, all they did was watch. That’s it, watch everyone and everything. It was freaking people out. Guards had been sent to guard the pearl, but the Cursed Pirates unnerved them so much they abandoned their posts after only one day.

Battle was brewing. They had to get that pearl off this island!
