Silence and peace are both. Easily made. Easily broken. It takes one word, one person and everything shifts on it's axis. Her eyes fell on her sleeping husbands form beside her. Bruised and cut, he moved in his sleep the way he does when something is plaguing his mind. She laid her hand on his chest and instinctively his hand came up and covered hers. Kissing his cheek gently, she whispered an "I love you" and extricated herself as his breathing evened out. Quietly she padded downstairs with Wa-ya on her heals. Grabbing a cloth, she ran it under the faucet to wet it down. She wiped the blood from the Cu's muzzle and set down scraps of ham as a treat. Wa-ya had certainly earned it tonight.

It took six tries to rearrange the sling and situate the crossbow. Five bolts in a string of expletives fired off into the air. She ripped the glove off her right hand and threw it to stones. Not enough maneuverability. She rubbed at the scar in her hand as if it would make it better. She felt nothing, and it had been so long since she used the bow that all muscle memory she would have had left had faded. Terra had been thorough in her handiwork. Better though it may be, it would never be the same. Stomping down the stairs in an aggravated huff found her not quite alone in the Rest. Aedon, disheveled and ripe from activity, greeted her. There was something different about him. It took several seconds and him removing the gypsy cap from his head before she realized what had changed. He'd pulled his hair back. He quietly advised once more against her spending too much time alone. She had to bite back that he was beginning to sound like Thom, a comment she wasn't sure either would appreciate.
