I've submitted many bug reports on this, but I've been trying to figure out what exactly is going on with this, so I thought I'd try and put all the information I have in one place, and in a thread where I can add to it if I figure out something else. The basic bug is a Gamebryo engine bug, because I've noticed it in another game using the same engine.

The basic bug involves the combination of the ctrl key and keyed movement. I you use keyed movement and press the ctrl key at the same time, you will start running in one direction. Sometimes you can break out of it by right clicking on the screen with your mouse, but many times you simply cannot stop. It doesn't matter what keys the movement is bound to, I've tried cursor keys and home, del, end, page down combinations with the same result.

I had this problem when I first started using the EC because I imported my macros and keybinds and all my keybinds used the ctrl-shift-key combination. However, when I figured out what was going on and removed the ctrl key from my keybinds, the problem went away. That is until fairly recently (sometime in the past year). After some update, and I don't know whether it was a Pinco's update or a game patch, I started having the problem again on my dexxers.

I've narrowed it down to the combination of using bandages and keyed movement. And what I'm wondering is if at any point in the past year a script that is involved in bandaging, or EC Playsound (and it may have happened when the bandage sound was added too EC Playsound) started causing the problem. My theory is that either a script, or EC Playsound is printing a ctrl character at some point during the bandaging process.

It seems as though the problem can occur throughout the bandaging event, if a movement key is used while a bandage is being applied, my character will start moving in the direction I am travelling and releasing the movement key won't stop it, as I described above.

There is already a problem report in the system regarding this "auto-run" scenario that occurs even when you have auto-run disabled. This appears to occur mostly when multiple keys are being pressed at the same time OR self targeting macros are being used.
