I have 2 accounts - 1 with house in middle of new mag and 1 with castle in swamps north of Trinsic.

I haven't really played in a while and I think I will close my accounts.
I want to do some way to give off my houses (with items in them)

what are some possible event we could do to give them away (separately)
I do not want to sell them.

Have you thought of doing events for items separate from house plots?

One way I've done this before is to put numbers between 1-100 in books, and use red leaves on them. Have everyone show up inside, you can then give each toon a bag with a book (and other gifts too). One all are ready, use the dice / dealer to roll a random number. This way everyone sees the number. Whoever has matching number in book wins. We do this with all kinds of stuff.

This. Make Casino-Night and let people dice for your items or make a lottery. Best solution: Put your stuff equally in chests and give each chest a number. Invite people to a party and let them chose a number. Everyone can get a chest this way. Cheers and party!

One way I have seen this done is to have a raffle. As stated above books are done with red leaf each has a set of numbers/letters, use letter with the numbers to make sure there is no one making copies of the books to cheat. A letter or letters with a master copy made off game where no one except you can read to track the books. Books are sold off a vendor at 1 mil a pop at the house (more for the castle) the vendor holds 125 books and till all the books are sold there is no winner declared.

Then a roll of the dice, matching numbers win and you either pocket the gold in the bank in case you return or donate to the cities in game.

if the Magincia house is worth it for the location a million a pop would give you 125 mil. If you think that is to high, lower it to maybe 100k a book. that would be 12mil 500k for that house. The Castle is in the swamps, nastly location if you a PvP looking for a fight, best location for a crafter to work skills. I say 5 mil a pop, vendor sell the books off and again as above you pocket the gold or donate to the cities.

UO Radio did just this very kind of Raffle for a Luna house.

Have a nekkid free-for-all and give the winner the castle, and the 2nd place the new mag. then be sure to give the rest that competed a big goodie bag. anything less than a nekkid free-for-all wouldn't be Siege-like

Be sure the new owner is someone who do play Siege, not someone visiting the shard for the event, then get a second house here and then never show up again.
Sure you never know if someone stop playing but they should have been here one month and been active.

I would also suggest a really awesome way to do this would be like the holiday IDOC Katt et al held two winters ago. Announce a set time range on a set date (like 1 - 2 pm on a Saturday) and tell folks you are dropping the house any time within that hour. Then, randomly place bags, chests, etc all over the house with 100 stone of logs or other heavy filler as well as random items from your house or bank.

This way, no one can grab everything at once. Anyone who wants to attend can plan ahead. Folks who don't want the house still have a reason to participate. And the house spot will go to the random cooldown timer before folks can place there.

Especially for new mag, this would be a great option. Depending on what you put in bags, you could basically guarantee everyone walked away with something interesting (as well as a heavy sack of filler).

The holiday version of this was a blast.

I was thinking about this idea, too. But we might expect a battle this way... Which is, of course, not always a bad thing. Can be funny and a party for thieves...

could do the i wish to resize my house under the house sign not sure how long til someone is able to place. I think about a hour maybe more or less

Yeah that event was great. I got all kinds of useful stuff. I think Victim even got the legacy token.

Also there was some steward Santa at other house, with gift to each who said the right word. That could be a way to give a way some stuff before the drop as each char only can claim one item/back each day.

I let my Marble Island house fall. I am sure there was a Huge free for all considering how much loot I had in my 18x18 of course that was way back in 2003
