Confused about MR

Hi,

Is MR cap now 18 or 30?
So if I don't have any necromancy etc. forms can I still hit MR 30 with items?

This says:

But client shows mar xx/30.

I don't think there is a hard cap. It suffers from diminishing returns though. I try to fit 18-20 on my mages if possible and cap out HPR at 18.
