At the present state of UO, players have the follow means to talk to each
other:
1. Screen speak... just type in message and return; players on screen range
reads text.
2. Party speak... just type in message and return; party reads text.
3. Guild speak... just type in message and return; guildmembership reads text.
4. Alliance speak... just type in message and return; alliance membership reads
text.
5. Communication crystals: all text messages view within range of crystal is
repeated and read by holders of reciever crystal.
6. Chat- General conferences with online players also logged on Chat.
7. ICQ; secondary text messager to be read during game.
8. Various forms of VENT programs... audio-listen system.
9. Other forms not listed here.
1 through 6 are part of the client-server program...the others are secondary
channels. It should be noted that ICQ and VENT programs can not be excluded
from use in anyway by the developers of UO, mostly infringement concerns.
Who uses 1-9 methods...?
Does methods 7 and 8 give advantage to those users?
Should 7 and/or 8 be added to UO client-server program?
