Can you get end game gear without having a crafter?

How do you get end game gear for PvM and PvP? Farm bosses? Farm rare material used for crafting? Or do you imbue properties into items you find?

I'm not too thrilled about having to spend hours building a crafter, so I'm curious if it is possible to get end game gear up without having access to a crafter. I like the idea of hunting and finding amazing armor/weapon that I can use. Does this exist?

You most certainly can. In fact I would say most, if not all the high end gear these days comes from loot.
