I just lost 4 shard shield tokens trying to claim them with a full backpack. I was getting around to transfer and not thinking, tried to claim the tokens off my shields. I received the normal charges remaining: 1 , charges remaining: 0 etc but no tokens or a message saying my pack was full or saying the tokens were returned to the shield. So make sure you have the room in your pack before claiming tokens.
