Greetings folks,
The town recognition system has been few months old now. All of the applications received thus far has been processed by the good folks at the Heraldic Society. We have also received good feedback on the system, specifically related to the in-character/in-game aspect of it and the fact that all applications/decisions are made available for everyone to read at the center. Some of you have even joined forces and came together as a township which is exactly what this is meant to encourage. The basics are in place and we will move forward with this process.
As discussed during the Meet & Greet (Wednesday Dec 29th, 2010), we plan on taking this to the next level. I realize that other shards have tried various things, as well. We will probably adopt things that make sense for Baja and/or create new systems.
I would like to foster an environment where different townships can either compete with each other or work together. It should also be something that once setup can move forward with minimal time from Event Moderators. This is a niche system which, although enriches the shard community greatly, is but only a part of everything Baja. So, EM time towards it will also be limited and we have to be smart about how it is used. I like to think of things as a "system" as it allows us to define inputs (what to put in) and outputs (what we hope to get out of it). This, then, allows for a better time-management.
This thread is open to all kinds of suggestions at this point. We have some ideas but will let you guys go wild for now.
Few keywords to keep in mind though before you start brainstorming: Accessibility, Transparency, Community, Simplicity, System, and Entertaining.
