Britannian Heraldic Society 2.0

Greetings folks,

The town recognition system has been few months old now. All of the applications received thus far has been processed by the good folks at the Heraldic Society. We have also received good feedback on the system, specifically related to the in-character/in-game aspect of it and the fact that all applications/decisions are made available for everyone to read at the center. Some of you have even joined forces and came together as a township which is exactly what this is meant to encourage. The basics are in place and we will move forward with this process.

As discussed during the Meet & Greet (Wednesday Dec 29th, 2010), we plan on taking this to the next level. I realize that other shards have tried various things, as well. We will probably adopt things that make sense for Baja and/or create new systems.

I would like to foster an environment where different townships can either compete with each other or work together. It should also be something that once setup can move forward with minimal time from Event Moderators. This is a niche system which, although enriches the shard community greatly, is but only a part of everything Baja. So, EM time towards it will also be limited and we have to be smart about how it is used. I like to think of things as a "system" as it allows us to define inputs (what to put in) and outputs (what we hope to get out of it). This, then, allows for a better time-management.

This thread is open to all kinds of suggestions at this point. We have some ideas but will let you guys go wild for now.

Few keywords to keep in mind though before you start brainstorming: Accessibility, Transparency, Community, Simplicity, System, and Entertaining.

The citizens of HearthFire Haven would really like to host a Beast Battle. Where Tamers can fight their pets. Which Township has the luxury to camp the Spawn sites for the best bred pet & has the time to train them. Chicken fights would be fun too. When we had our Grand Opening, our Town Hall top levels were construction with PVP Arenas in mind but our Alliance members did not want to fight so WildStar graciously offered one of Dawn's Tower tops (The Kingdom of Dawn is in Felucca) for the contest. We had every weapon & armor bought from Vendors (and Arcane Clothing for the Mages) so that the contest was determined by skill not powerful items. We would love to do this again; it was a lot of fun to watch and partake in. The game mechanics make this type of event tricky. We are also very fond of the Nude Dungeon Crawls. Just to spice things up; we had also thought about a Merchant Train attempting to deliver goods to the Kingdom of Dawn (by foot/caravan) for some Red Player involvement; other than Spawns or Faction Wars. We are still brainstorming.

On December 29th the Township Summit / Medieval Ball was again brought forth as a point of discussion.

Those of us pursuing the implementation of such a gathering have chosen to wait until the Township Program gains steam and ample IC reason is established before we prompt the otherwise Independent States and the Britannians to band together around a Common Council.

The Bane Chosen. Exodus. Minax. The Desecration of the Shrines. We might have that ample IC reason before us.

That said - while I do not speak for the other three architechts behind the Summit Theme - I suspect we would be more than willing to move this forward as a joint project between the Townships and the Event Moderator Program rather than it being the sole domain of one or another.
