Fell events are much better. specially when the drop isnt blessed. 
on a side note i noticed the EM had two of the drops in his back pack before he realized he was in fel and changed himself to "you cannot preform negative acts on this target" It wouldnt let me steal from him but i could peak into his pack until he made the change.

Yes, I assumed that was part of the (fel) plan, as a guildmate had told me he was carrying items. They did not say they were event items though.
Was still very fun, and not much pvp, but enough to intrigue players who don't pvm much.
