never really paid that much attention to the 'Antique' items tags until tonight.
i was working up Bushido on a new character and i had went shopping and picked up a suit for him to train with.
i had wanted to get 40 LMC and some MR on the suit to make training a little easier and since the new loot system vender shopping has been so nice.
i picked up some Arcane Leaver Arms that had 10LMC and 2MR on them and they where 'Antique'.

picked up my favorite bunny from the stablemaster and started lightning striking on my bunny.
bout an hour later i had hit 90 (from 50) and decided it was time to take a supper break.
disarmed and got the message "something something your stuff is being damaged blah blah" and i thought to myself.... strange.... im disarmed so i shouldnt be getting that message.
so i took off my robe and looked at my gear and everything was fine, legs 33/33 chest 31/31 hat 34/34 arms 0/252 and WOOOOAAAAAAAA there what the devil!
and ya sure enough the arms had tanked during the training.
strange, none of the other gear took a hit.
so i repaired them and after my break i decided to make the push to 100 bushido.
ran for another hour, arms down to 164/253

strange this, cause nothing else is taking damage other then the weapon im using.

so im wondering is this the ephemeral property and the item getting eaten away by wearing it while in battle OR is this actual damage being done to the item from the battle like the weapon takes?
because im not taking any damage while training so im assuming this is the durability kill while being in battle over time?

interesting none the less.

Hmmmm... now I'm going to have to do some testing. It's been awhile since I've trained like that but it might be irrelevant if the bunny is dealing dmg to you As long as it it attackin and occasionally hitting you. (2% min chance to hit you). I'll have to lure something up to my house and fireball it / heal it without closing to melee and see if durability loss happens.

antique items even wear down when you use PEACE bard mastery songs ... and that is (IMNSHO) kinda silly!

You fight with a stealh-mystic, only dropping clossus and stay hidden - and your antique items will wear off even you dont get hit a single time! I tested it months ago, and I decided to live with this limitation: I got 21 chars maxed out and I use the antiques if they are better than my original suit. And when they are broken, I change to the original pieces.

I decided long time ago that "Antique items aka ephemeral" were all crap and not worth picking up. I'm not going to wear anything or incorporate something into my suit I'm going to have to farm to replace.... there is FAR too much crap in this game that has to be continually turned into some sort of freaking grind.... I want to play the game and have fun not spend 90% of my time farming and grinding crap to spend 10% actually doing something "fun".
