Spring Soup. Spring Soup is nothing more or less than a simple soup using some of the fresh vegetables of springtime, a soup perfect for throwing together quickly over a campfire alongside the road. Typical versions include a good clear broth, leeks and carrots, and tender young spinach leaves. Baby peas are also sometimes added. Some like to add a bit of rice. In parts of Britannia, a splash of cream is added to thicken the soup and make it creamy. In Cove and Vesper, the young spinach leaves are omitted and asparagus tips are used in their place.

Brittany Bread is a thick-crusted, braided loaf that is sold in and around Britain in the Springtime. It is flavored with the chervil, tarragon and parsley that grow abundantly around Britain. Some add lavender to the mix, and some add a touch of honey. The Four probably packed a loaf or two for the road.

When Dawn was a city that existed in the ether, moonsberries grew there wildly. Moonsberries have been described as slightly larger than a typical grape, though pure white and pearlescent, with a smooth and pleasant texture and a taste not unlike a mixture of fresh cream and sweet strawberries. In their mourning, the people of Dawn gathered all the moonsberries they could and baked them into square pies, square pies being a typical sign of mourning in the magic city. Since moonsberries are very difficult to obtain (although they do sometimes grow at the base of moongates, especially during particularly rainy summers), a mock Thaumaturge Pie can be made by preparing an eggless vanilla pudding pie flavored with a strawberry liqueur. As for the shape, though some still stay with the traditional squares, often enough, basic circular pies are made.
