A Call to Arms
In light of recent events it has become increasingly apparent that our lands are no longer in a state of peace. More and more the rumors of violence and unrest lay across the villages and towns like a thick fog. Once the trade routes teemed with activity and commerce, now they are quiet and abandoned.
Recently there was a frantic call for help by a traveler heading to Britain. He was accosted by highwaymen and brigands. The traveler’s fru fru appearance and high pitched squeals made him an easy target.
According to the traveler, the highwaymen were insistent on soiling his nice clean garments. They got mud on his shoes and smudged his cloak. The poor man’s inexperience in the ways of personal protection became apparent when he threw himself behind Rose Blaque hiding behind her cloak, which was a bit awkward to say the least.
The small band of citizens who answered the distress of the pampered trader encountered more highway men, but dispatched them quickly enough. On the way to Britain the discussion was broached for the need of a Militia. Perhaps it is indeed time to set the wheels in motion and form an official guard!
*Respectfully submitted by Rose Blaque*
