Now I can't understand why lower value gives better odds at a drop.
And where 44/22/1 numbers are used.

What are odds at a drop on killing 100th vampire bat using ToT values compared to killing 100th vampire bat using new doom values? Is it 44 times better?

I don't know specifics off hand, but it's a lot better. Only made better by luck.
