Okies i have expanded the post to include Europa News from September 24th, 1999 - Second Anniversary of the Public Release of Ultima Online.

If anyone feels ive made a mistake or if someone can add more detailed information- especially links to the olde Town Criar pages and stories of the actual event footage then please post and i will add it. Also if any other items need to be added then again please post the information you know of !!...So we can all make a nice documented history of our Europa Shard...

1999 Decorative Plates for collection from the recent Anniversary - Player Collection
Okies not realy an event as such but still !! Lord British issued a special plate decorated with a beautifull painting of mondains defeat as the gem of immortality shattered. Players had to go to the castle themselves and collect it by signing the visitors book, nice collectors plate from September 24th, 1999 - Second Anniversary of the Public Release of Ultima Online

1999? Sword of the Champion- Shardwide Seer Event
The Grandmaster and master duelist titles were before the EM events. They came out of a 2 vs 2 shard wide pvp tournament event. Team winners received those titles on their char and each received a white sword of champion. Its a pure white viking sword and some have easter eggs hidden inside them.

2000 Ancient Dragon Al'cedra Riddles Event - EM Event
Okies there was a monthly event around this time 2000/2001, That gave out a 5 monthy reward sashes for overcoming the challenges put forth by the ancient dragon Al'Cedra. One was rewarded each month for five months to the winner who solved the riddles. The sash is snow white and titled with "Master of the Word".

2000 The Gypsy Fortune, and a Rare Opportunity! Rilla's Event - Europa only SEER Event
A competition is set to design rooms in Rilla's Maginca place near the Gypsy Waggon(Felucca), sketches could be sent into a Seer and were judged, the winning designs were implemented into the House and a Label in each room was posted with winners name on it.

2001 Ancient Dragon Al'cedra Riddles Final Event - EM Event
Originating from Al'Cedra's 6th Challenge - The Gauntlet!. These bags were given to the five former Masters Of The Word winners and each bag contained information on what the Masters role in the final trial would be. The bags were marked and labelled with numbers from Gauntlet 1 through to Gauntlet 5.The winners of the gauntlet won a Master of Sword and Word Sash.

2001 Savages/ Orcs Attack!! - Global Event
Small event were Savages attack causing confusion as to why?? Players can kill and loot the savages and collect tribal masks in different colours(30) .Tribal spears are also lootable and Savage kin paint can be made and worn to walk with the savages!!. Also Orcs also attack in the confusion made by the savages, orc kin masks can be worn to walk with the savages and are lootable from the orc corpses, also the orc lords drop magical evil orc lord helms that give magical properties if worn!!.

The point of this event was to rescue prisoners at Yew prison, crude corroded manacles were left everywhere to be picked up. Shard wide event.

2002 Red/ Black Solen Ants Invade Britannia- Global Event
Okies Giant Ant holes sring up all over the land and both Red and Black Ants appear. Deep in the Holes Ant Queens live. Players need to talk to the Queen and take a quest from her to kill the opposite colour Ants . By killing the ants Zoogie fungi is looted form the ant corpse. On returning to the Queen she rewards players with Powder of translocation that can be used to recharge the very usefull new Bags of Sending and the Bracelets of Binding.

2004 A Pirates Lenshire Booty!! Global Event
Okies basically the city of Jhelom was invaded by Pirates, the guard are summoned to investigate and eventually clues lead to a pirates cave near vesper. The guard storm the cave and clear the pirates fiends out and find Scattered throughout the cave were crates with the name "Lenshire" stamped on them, which was the name of the Baron in Jhelom . When returned to the Baron Lenshire was kind enough to issue Lenshire Clan Tabards to those that returned his belongings to his Dock Workers.

2004? Royal Explorer Event - EM Event
Okies again Jordan Jurrel started the Explorer event . People were sent to Hythloth Dungeon, to slay minions/monsters and collect Numbered daggers from there corpse (Named 1, 2, 5, and 10), The idea was to collect as many of the daggers with numbers on, then return to Jordan's office, The person who had collected the most 'points' on the daggers received the Event Reward.(I believe it was a draw so 2 sets were handed out)

2004? Britain Gargish Detective Event - EM Event
Okies a GM called the players to British Castle and explained the story of an enslaved gargoyle he had captured and was interigating for usefull information, however the gargoyle had lost his memory and the players had to find 3 items to help make the gargoyle remember something very important. So players had to run around Britain trying to find the 3 items, On finding the items they returned to the GM who then rewarded then with a detective sash!! they also kept the item they found...

2004? Fake Jorden Jurrel Event - EM Event
An imposter takes up the role of out Commander, his strange behavoiur becomes noticeable and also his sash reads backwards (mirrored image). Inu the crone bursts in to scene and vanishes the fake Jurrel but only to Castle Blackthorn- the players ( the guard) race to Blackthorns Castle to be met with ogre like monsters and finally the fake Jurrel himself- Once slaid items form his corpse are lootable to keep. Also the real Jorden Jurrel awakes form his nightmare state and thanks the players and gives out 'reverse' brit guard sashes for keepsakes.

2004? Glades Nightmare Invasion of Minoc Event - EM Event
Okies the storyline moved on and Glade vanished form Jurrels office, The Royal Guard (the players) were summoned to Brit Castle and a search was started. It was found for some reason Minoc was infested with swamp creatures, and Glade was wandering around in a dream like trance with the swamp monsters, although the monsters did not attack her.It was also noticed Glade would randomly drop either a un-named coloured seed or strange dust , which were both pickable. The guard fought the swamp monsters but they kept respawning, Jurrel suggested that Glade was somehow dreaming the Invasion and it was coming to life , so it was Glade that needed to be awoken. He also suggested maybe the smell of wine form her own town of Yew would do the trick. Players had to bribe the npcs in Yew Winery with a meat pie to get a Bottle of Yew Wine. This awoke Glade and the swamp spawn was finally killed off to free Minoc and free Glade form her nightmare sleep.

GM Elendrik started the event from British Castle. The players wer taken to the Duelling pits in Jhelom were they were asked to work as a team to defeat many nasty beasties. Jordan Jurrel Commander of the Brit Guard gave players 'golden sashes' as recruitment gifts into the Royal Guards!!
Note .. There was a few similar events were 'recruitment' to the royal guard sashes were given out, by Jordan Jurrel - Commander of the Royal Guards.

Moonglow became infested with rats, Jorden Jurrel opens gate for the players to fight the rats, Bigger rats appear and the fights get fierce, Its suggested the rats were coming form the old disused zoo, players found a mighty rat called King Snark- on defeating it, the Inedible Snark Steak was taken....

Okies im a little vague but Cove City is invaded by orcs of all kinds that take over the city!! The guard (players) have to fight there way in!! it tkaes a huge number of players to break down the relentless orc forces. Orcish Enginners tool boxes are droppable on the slain Orc corpses..

Okies these GM Events were PVP Tournements hosted at the Arena just outside Luna City. Strange Rifts Appear Across Sosaria, found by Selcius the astronomer at MoonglowTelescope. A New secret entrance in found in the lost lands of Ilshnear - By saying the magic password “Roclasmpy” Players are cast into Virtue Void within a sea of stars. Players have to group in mass armies to basically fight the whole of the inhabitants of Doom x10!!! (less the DF's) but with paragons creatures too!! a guargantic battle ensues and eventually Europa are victorious!! However the void yielded no rewards but was left with the strange Time Lord inside.........What could this mean???????

2007 Lord British Castle Rat Invasion - Global Event.
Lord British Castle is over run with rats, people had to clean out the castle of the vermin.

As I write this, evil times are before us, but I’m confident the hearts of our people shall persevere. Though the days grow darker, there are many who still seek the light of Truth, for it is Truth that lends our arts the power to overcome all evil, if we but trust in it. But what is Truth, you might ask? Truth is that which is inherent in all things. It is the truth that we discover when we are able to see clearly, free from other distractions. As Lord British once wrote in the book titled Virtue, “Truth alone becomes Honesty, for without honesty between our people, how can we build the trust that is needed to maximize our successes? Truth tempered by Love gives us Justice, for only in a loving search for the truth can one dispense fair Justice, rather than create a cold and callous people. Courage and Truth give us Honor, great knights know this well, that chivalric honor can be found by adhering to this code of conduct.”
It is thus more than a mere symbol that we have lost in the Book of Truth; it is a necessary constituent of the very fabric of our way of life. Though the task of retrieving it is monumental and the risk grave indeed, we must continue to bravely venture forth until that which has been taken from us all has been restored to its rightful place.
Finally, my fellow seekers, let it be known that the brave soul who recovers the ''actual Book of Truth'' will be forever known for that great deed, his or her name immortalized in stone for all to see. Though we certainly do not wish to foster pride, we would be foolish not to honor the true heroes in our midst as exemplars of the Virtues!!
Players had to fight the evil minions that lay around the Lyceum and virtue dungeons, as they killed there foe and got lucky they were rewarded with a replica book of truth, these replicas could be handed in to get a much better reward...The whole event hinged on the person who received the most books of truth- only his/her name would be carved in stone as the finder of the real book of truth under the Lyceum!!

2007 The Destruction of Olde Haven - Global Event
Players Beware! Black Hooded Strangers Roaming Haven, and their intent is unknown ??. These strangers seem skittish and disappear with little warning when approached. There are reports of these suspicious visitors collecting pieces of blackrock!! from the players and giving out small rewards for there blackrock pieces.The players can find ''small pieces of black rock'' on the floor all over the land form the fallout of the Ophidian Base explosion. Also players learn they get also mine large black rock pieces form certain areas in Ilshnear. Players are reminded by high mages in Moonglow the possible threat created by the strangers stockpilling this potentially dangerous substance in Haven. Alas the pure greed inbred into players wanting the rewards for there blackrock ultimately leads to the Hooded strangers stockpling heaps under Havens foundations blowing up the Olde Haven City as we knew it!!!

2007 Candle of Love Event- Global Event.
A Deamon spotted on the west shores of Windamere started a questing style event were players were firstly given clues to specfic items to be found in specfic dungeons, afterwards Shrines had to be cleansed of monsters to allow players to chant the mantra of the Shrine and be rewarded with another item that was needed, when all the items were collected handed in at Yew Abbey a plain white candle was rewarded for your troubles . However this was not the end of the task, oh no, Players then had to decend into the tunnel of love below Yew Abbey and navigate a very hard lava maze!!! - If successful, the player would be rewarded with a white ''Candle of Love (player name)''

2007 Magincia Invasion - Global Event
Magincia Town was invaded by deamons, the town moongate became corrupted and the only way in was by boat!! The mayor of Maginca funded a free ferry service from Trinsic Docks to help players to get to the town and fight the deamon hordes. The players had to fight off the many different type deamons to try save the town forever. To make matters worse Light Deamons could explode and destroy the Maginca landscape to produce many different pieces of Rubble...

While I recently recovered my ancient access to stratics, I stumbled at this post.
Although I can't really say much about what has happened in the last 7 years, I miss much (if not to say anything) about all those events we had in and together with the community of Spiritwood in the very early days.
IGM's created "quests"/"tasks", together with those unique handed out items in the very early days of the Europe-RP-society.
The creation of a unique game in SW, called: Bagball, which even made it towards Asian shards - and even in a static field in an expansion as a playground.

I am not the person to talk to about those early Europa events though, as I missed many either, but I know that <Pad'O Lion> would really be able to tell you mighty, frightening and exciting tales all night long
